Episode 11 - Glory Daze with Rachel McIntyre Smith

Today I’m talking with Rachel McIntyre Smith, an Americana / Country artist from Knoxville, TN who has a real gift for storytelling. The Boot called her  “…part Musgraves, part Phoebe Bridgers, all sincere storytelling and heartstring-pulling,” and Holler called her “…Loretta Lynn for the TikTok generation…” After her first single and title track, “Glory Daze,” went viral on TikTok, Smith saw her audience double in a matter of days and fun fact, due to the quirky subject matter of one of the tracks, “The Kitten Song,” she became a regular performer at cat cafes. At the start of the pandemic, Rachel moved back in with her parents while at the same time watching all the people she had grown up with get married and have kids… but that led to the writing of her EP Glory Daze, which came out last fall and just last week she released a reimagined acoustic version of the EP.
